I’m a methadone addict. Now I need to get clean. How long is this gonna take me?

Taper down, reduce your dosage by 5mg for a week, then another 10mg for a week or two and so on, it will take a few months but they you should be able to come off cleanly, with very little withdrawal.

Withdrawal will be about 3 – 4 days, depending on how much you’ve been taking, it could be up to a week. Best to taper off gradually over a month or two, get it down and down, if you have the control for it.

Well, it’s not nice, but about 3 days of shaking and sweating should get it out of your system. Like anything, the cravings last longer, so you’ll need to find ways to deal with that.

Withdrawal itself can take up to a week, if you’re seriously addicted. Most people are successful by tapering down and that’ll make coming off it easier.
