When I first arrived at Metro Treatment Center, I received a physical assessment and extensive drug and alcohol usage review. A personalized and closely monitored detoxification plan to relieve the immediate symptom of withdrawal. Once clean they focused on my behaviors that lead up to my drug and alcohol use. Educating myself with new coping tools allowed me to focus on therapeutic work to be done rather than on the distraction caused by discomfort and cravings. I am under supervised care of specialized nurses and doctors. This is where I need to be right now and plan to continue my recovery process as long as needed.
