I’m looking at withdrawing from methadone, and I know there are something over the counter medications to help control the mild symptoms, but I need to know what the mild symptoms are. Has anyone had this experience that can tell me what the mild symptoms are?

There is always a chance you could fall into depression and experience hallucinations. As far as I know there is nothing over the counter you could take for that. My wife bought me a puppy, that helped so much! That’s over the counter :-)

Tapering yourself off methadone will make all of your symptoms less severe. The chills, fever, anxiety and rapid heartbeat were almost unnoticeable for me the second time. That was when I tampered off the first time was cold turkey.

I used pepto for the pukeing. It was a horrible first week and that helped. Especially with the stomach cramps. The paranoia sets in try to be in a comfortable place to help ease it some.
