I have been a Heroin user for a few years now. My friends have recommended trying Methadone. Is it effective? I need help.

Methadone is a drug and still addictive. I don’t see it as a way to get sober but it does help with withdrawals.

I am a recovering Heroin addict and I have used Methadone to recover in the past. I didn’t use it as prescribed and eventually went back to Heroin. As long as you use it and go to support groups you should be fine!

Methadone is great for someone trying to get off Heroin. It is very effective in helping you stop using Heroin. If you go to a clinic, make sure you tell them you want to taper off quickly so you don’t become addicted to the Methadone. Good luck!

There are many pros and cons to using Methadone. It is effective if you want it to be. Pair the Methadone with therapy, Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and support from family and friends. You should be good. Good luck on your journey!
