In my opinion, if you’re using Methadone as a detox mechanism, only stay on it for a few months. You don’t want to depend on it the rest of your life.

You can take it for weeks, months, years or even decades. If you don’t feel ready to come off Methadone, stay on it. If it’s keeping you away from the hard stuff, why stop?

There is no time limit while taking Methadone. It really just depends on how you feel. Talk with your doctor about a treatment plan.

That is a choice you make! I took it for two years and was finally ready to come off it. I am grateful for the Methadone but grateful to be off it as well!
