Im ready to get off methadone, and I think I can do it myself. I mean how effective are treatment programs anyway?

I would have to say quite effective. If methadone is that strong that you are addicted to it, I can only imagine how easy it would be to go right back to doing it if you don’t get treatment

If you have to go it on your own I would well research it well! But to answer your question, yes treatment programs for methadone work damn well.

I can tell you from my experience that if it were not for the inpatient treatment program I went through. I would not have had the will power to do it on my own.

Treatment programs have the ability to keep you on track and help with counseling and to share your story with others who will also share theirs so you are feeling so alone. I wouldn’t suggest you go it on your own.
