If I chose Methadone as a way to stop using Heroin, am I just substituting one addiction for another?

I consider Methadone the same thing as Heroin. If you truly want to get better, get into detox and go to rehab. Your chances of staying sober are way higher.

You will be better off without the Methadone. I was on Methadone maintenance for a few years and right when I was done tapering off I went right back to Heroin. That isn’t everyone’s story but I wish I didn’t waste my time.

I don’t think so! If you’re going to the doctor and taking the Methadone as prescribed, you’re going to be just fine,

Totally. You can get sober without Methadone. It is hard but you can do it. Go to detox and find some treatment programs. You’ll be better off without it.
